Finding beauty in the “imperfect,” shapes Olivia’s journey in art.

Born in Toronto, Canada, in July of 1991 to a Spanish mother and Sicilian father, Olivia Elso is a contemporary artist, living and creating in Barcelona. 

Curiosity about the world led Olivia abroad, at a young age. At 19 she ventured to Madrid to study fashion design. Her passion for art truly emerged the summer she participated in a cultural exchange in Senegal. While travelling and learning from local artists, this hands-on experience using upcycling techniques was instrumental in Olivia’s development. 

Olivia’s abstract, collage and mixed media pieces are guided by colour, each a special fragment of her soul. Upcycling "trash", she transforms the discarded into beautiful pieces.

Her art endeavors to demystify Olivia’s personal struggles with depression and self-doubt, and create works that bring joy and peace into this world. Art has been her therapy and her salvation.
